DJ Kevin Russell came to our facility on May 12, 2011 to provide a special "sock hop" activity for National Nursing Home Week. Kevin was very professional and interacted with our staff and residents well. His choice of music varied from 50s to 60s music to upbeat gospel, as well as taking requests. I started planning a "Sweet 16" party for my daughter, Keri. She wanted to do something different and invite lots of friends. She decided that we should get a DJ and have a dance. Kevin Russell was the first and only person that came to mind and I contacted him right away. I had never hosted a party like this before and Kevin was very helpful with suggestions during the planning process. He has done parties for many years and has lots of experience. Kevin played all the hits and the teenagers had a great time! They also enjoyed the dance atmosphere Kevin created with his terrific light show and fog machine. Kevin has a wonderful personality and did a really good job interacting with the teens and made my Birthday Girl feel really special. Keri thought he was awesome
and the party exceeded all my expectations! Several teens have asked when we are doing this again! Kevin was very easy to work with and I would hire him again in a heartbeat!

I got married on September 5th, 2009 in Oxford, Mississippi and Kevin was our reception DJ. We had a great time, great mix of old and new music and he kept the party going until the very end. Kevin was very concerned about keeping us happy, and he did a very good job. We were never able to work out a time to meet with Kevin before our event, and we were worried about going into it without meeting him, but Kevin assured us that he would be great, and he was. If you can't meet with him before your event, it won't affect his performance! Thank you Kevin for helping make our special day that much better.

Kevin is always professional and is very knowledgeable on event planning. During our events Kevin does all of the announcements for door prizes and to let the customers know about the event going on. Thank you for coming to Guin, Alabama for our high school dance in August 2009. I have to admit that I was a little nervous because it had been over 10 years since the last dance. Everything went off without a hitch. The music was wonderful, and the kids had a great time. You know that the high school years are difficult, and I was nervous that they would have a good time. The kids were not ready to leave when the dance had ended. The dance was such a big hit that we decided to have a dance right away (remember it has only been a month since the last dance). The night ended with the kids asking for another dance and they did not want to wait. You know I feel if children (who have everything-cars, trucks, ipods, cell phones, and computers) have a great time it is our responsibility to ensure their safety in a controlled environment. Thank you DJ Kevin for a night to remember. We look forward to seeing again in September 2009.

Kevin Russell did a fantastic job at my daughter's 13th birthday party!! He interacted with the kids and even picked on them a little which everyone thought was hilarious! My daughter's friends are still talking about what a great time they had. Not only did the kids have fun but so did the adults and the light show was something else. On behalf of the members of Gumtree TWIGS, we would like to thank you for your support of our 7th Annual Father/Daughter Gumtree Ball benefiting Le Bonheur Children’s. Your support of this local event is appreciated by our TWIG members and the staff at Le Bonheur. This year’s event raised a little under $24,000 for the hospital and saw record breaking attendance for a 7th consecutive year. There were 751 dads and daughters who attended this year’s event. We had people travel from 29 towns in North Mississippi and some attended from as far away as Houston, Texas and Mosinee, Wisconsin. We appreciated you coming to DJ the event. Everyone who participated in the ball truly had a great time and enjoyed the music and the dancing that went on throughout thanks again for doing such a great job!

My daughter's wedding was in April of 2009. Unless you have planned a big wedding, you may never know the number of big decisions that have to be made. My daughter had a "dream" of a big, traditional church wedding with the reception at the Tupelo Country Club with dancing. Jenny wanted the music to have a "Motown" flavor because that music is so much fun to dance to. We started looking for a band and realized that we were talking about many thousand dollars, plus travel charges and limitations in musical styles, variety and quality. After thinking about this issue, we decided that if we chose a DJ, we not only would save thousands of dollars but we would also be able to have any songs we wanted in the original voices! It wouldn't be someone imitating the musical styles, but the actual original singers! So this was our decision and we never regretted it! I had the pleasure of meeting Kevin Russell several years ago and when the wedding "band" plan changed I immediately thought of asking him to "DJ" this most important occasion, and he began working with us. We really didn't consider any other DJ's. Everyone of the vendors that we worked with getting ready for the wedding said that in their opinion, Kevin Russell was the best! They were right! Jenny and her fiance made a list of songs they wanted to include and Kevin did the rest. This gave him an idea of their "style" of music and he was on!! At the wedding, the music was WONDERFUL!! From the first song, people were dancing! Kevin was very polished and professional and everyone LOVED the music! I would highly recommend Kevin Russell for any function! He is a delight to work with, and is incredibly helpful. When the reception was over I received the most wonderful gift. Jenny said to me, "All my life I've dreamed of the perfect wedding, and this was everything I've dreamed of!" All the planning, all the work, everything came together beautifully and Kevin Russell took us to the resounding finish with his music!

I would like to take a minute to thank Kevin for his help with a situation that occurred at my school this past year. Our prom took place in April and was a great success thanks to some unselfish work by one of my employees who was able to fill in at the last minute after the DJ we had contracted failed to show. Kevin was already booked on the date we were having our prom. We had used Kevin in the past and had been very satisfied with the quality of his work and trusted him. When Kevin found out that we had been stood up by the bad behavior of another DJ, without having any obligation to do so Kevin offered to come to my school and provide his DJ services, free of charge, to reassure our confidence in his DJ service. It so happened that we were in the process of scheduling an end of school Positive Behavior Support extended break for our students and this seemed to fit the bill. Kevin came to our school the day of the PBS party and provided DJ services for our students for the next couple of hours. The students loved it and had a great time. I loved it because the students really seemed to appreciate the gesture by Kevin. He did it because he wanted to, not because he had to. It is refreshing to see someone who understands that their good name is worth more than dollars and cents. I appreciate what Kevin did for my school and my students. We will try to make sure we book him early for our prom in the future to avoid the "no show" DJ's.

I just wanted to take the time to send you a quick email to let you know how much everyone enjoyed having you at our dance last night. I am one of the Co-Presidents of the Mooreville Middle School PIA (Parents in Action - formerly PTA)... and last night was our 3rd dance we have had at the school to raise funds for the PIA projects. The other 2 dances were handled by a different DJ. He wasn't available this time, and I was given your name to see if you were available. Boy, did that turn out to be a great decision! All of the kids had a blast last night! I can't count the number of times that I heard the kids tell me that they never want to use any other DJ other than Kevin Russell! The main thing that made you stand out from the other DJ is that you constantly involve the kids in with the music. This was especially important at this Middle School dance because the kids are so shy that it takes quite some time for them to warm up & begin dancing. However, you started things off with a song that had a countdown and the party began! You played all of the current / hit songs that they love. You played songs that they could group dance to.... songs that they could slow dance to... and you even did special dedications. Everyone enjoyed your music... even us "old fogey" chaperones... because you played some music that we even remember!!! (Ha!)
In all seriousness though, we will not hesitate to contact you FIRST when we plan our next dance. You will be our DJ of choice for all future dances at Mooreville Middle School! Thanks again for making this dance "a night to remember" for our kids!

The kids seemed to have a terrific time and stayed longer than any other proms I have been to. The Tupelo High School Class of 1974 hired Kevin Russell to provide his Professional DJ Services for a dance/party at the Ramada Inn Convention Center here in Tupelo on June 19, 2004 during our 30th class reunion weekend celebration. Kevin was easy to work with and he did what he said that he was going to do. We asked Kevin to play popular songs for the time period of 1968 through the 1980's. He had a great selection of songs for this target period. He played a good mix of both "slow and fast" songs. When closing time arrived, my classmates in attendance were not ready for the dance/party to be over. As a reflection of our satisfaction with Kevin's dj services, our class would hire Kevin to work with us again on a future reunion party. As the Sheriff of Lee County, when I scheduled my Christmas party for the Sheriff's Office, I wanted the best entertainment I could find. My goal was to find someone that could relate to all ages when it came to music. I knew that Kevin was that person. I called him and he accepted the invitation to be the entertainment for the 2004 Lee County Sheriff's Department Christmas party. His style of music and humor was just what we all wanted!
